LECTURE OF OPPORTUNITY TO SENIOR COMMAND COURSE AT THE JOINT WARFARE CENTRE

The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Robert Kibochi on 3rd September 2021 delivered a lecture of opportunity to the Senior Command Course participants at the Joint Warfare Centre.

The lecture themed “Strengthening Mission Readiness To Respond To A Complex And Dynamic Security Environment” covered domains of warfare across all spectrum of security.

General Kibochi challenged the course participants to continue seeking knowledge so as to improve to the current complex and dynamic security threats facing the world today. He pointed out that Cyber operation is offensive and defensive in its nature which requires a more planned approach.

He added that the world is currently facing more dynamic threats which are not theoretical and there is need for the senior officers to integrate the knowledge acquired to face the threats. He also emphasized the need of mentorship and fulfilling welfare of the troops through soldier centric welfare approach.

“Let us not confine ourselves entirely to our areas of professionalism. We should not be unidirectional but multi directional.

The Joint Warfare Centre will soon be a constituent college of the National Defence University-Kenya as a process of improving the Kenya Defence Forces institutions.

The Senior Command Course (SCC) is a tri-service course tailored for KDF officers who have attained the rank of Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel.
