The aim of the course was to provide the divers with special diving skills to enable them conduct clearance diving operations that are critical to Kenya’s safety and security.
While presiding over the graduation ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Shukri Ali, the Kenya Navy Staff Officer One Operations, congratulated the graduands for completing the training successfully.
“I congratulate each and every one of you on reaching this significant milestone in your careers. You have immersed yourselves in the depths of uncertainty and faced the challenges head-on, emerging stronger, more resilient, and thoroughly prepared to protect and serve,” remarked Lt Col Shukri.
He stated that divers are entrusted with safeguarding Kenya’s maritime interests, protecting the shores, and aiding those in hazardous and life-threatening situations. He also praised Senior Private Michelle Jepkorir, the only female graduand, as an inspiration to others.
Lieutenant Colonel Peter Waweru, Chief Instructor KNTC, urged the graduands to always be mission ready to ensure mission success.
