The Kenya Navy and Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) today joined hands in a tree planting exercise at the Kenya Navy Base (KNB) Mtongwe, Mombasa.

This partnership aims to advance the Commander-in-Chief’s national tree planting drive. The exercise is also part of the Kenya Defence Forces Environmental Soldier Program.

The Commanding Officer KNB Mtongwe, Lieutenant Colonel Evans Onyancha, expressed gratitude to KCB for providing the seedlings.

“The Kenya Navy fraternity is grateful to KCB for the tree seedlings. These trees that we have planted today are key to sustaining life and help to stabilize our
environment amongst other benefits,” he remarked.

Kenya Navy personnel, Kenya Commercial Bank representatives and Kenya Navy Primary and Junior Secondary learners participated in the exercise. A total of 3000 tree seedlings were planted.
