KENYA ARMY OFFICERS INVESTITURE CEREMONY

Following the announcement of KDF promotions by His Excellency, Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, Kenya Army Service held a promotion ceremony where the newly promoted officers were investitured with their badges of ranks on 29th May 2023 at the Defence Headquarters Officers Mess.

It was a moment of joy and excitement to the newly promoted Officers as they moved a step forward in their military careers to new ranks and appointments. The ceremony that was presided over by Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General Peter Njiru, accompanied by the Deputy Army Commander and other General Officers.

In his congratulatory remarks, Commander Kenya Army hailed the officers for their commitment and hard work that have made them to be awarded with the promotions and new appointments.

“Your promotion is a result of dedication and commitment to duty that you should strive to maintain. Further the promotion comes with new responsibilities that you must work hard to deliver on as you serve the nation. Among the responsibilities you have is mentoring your juniors which should be a priority as you prepare to undertake the new responsibilities,’’ said Lieutenant General Njiru.

Lieutenant General Njiru further assured the newly promoted Officers of his unwavering support in their areas of responsibility to enable them effectively achieve the set mission and vision of the Kenya Army.

Deputy Army Commander Major General David Tarus in his speech, urged the officers to execute their duties with professionalism in order to help the Kenya Army deliver on its mandate.

“Today we are here celebrating your promotion however professionalism should be your guiding yardstick. Remember to whom much is given, much is expected therefore don’t let us down,’’ said Major General Tarus.

Present during the ceremony were General Officer Commanding Western Command Major General Jeff Nyagah, Director Medical Services Major General (Dr) George Ng’ang’a, Deputy Vice Chancellor Applied Research & Military Studies, National Defence University – Kenya Major General William Shume, Formation Commanders and other Senior Kenya Army Officers.
