KENYA AIRFORCE JUNIOR OFFICERS VISIT RETIRED KAF COMMANDER

Kenya Air Force (KAF) officers undergoing the Young Officer’s course, on 31st May 2023, visited Maramba Tea Factory Limited in Limuru.

Led by Major Michael Nyenyo, they were received at the farm and taken through tea processing procedures which include; weighbridge, withering, fermentation, drying, sorting, tasting, sifting, CTC (Cutting, Tearing and Curling) Bins and finally packaging.

Speaking during the visit, the Operations Director Major General (Rtd) Dedan Gichuru expressed his joy on seeing the new officers. He talked about his journey since 1963 when he started flying, through to his experience as a the first indigenous KAF commander.

“It’s been a good journey that has given me life lessons. Whatever happened during that period taught me a lot for I was trained all round. I have memorable incidents that I hold close to my heart.”

He further urged the junior officers to always respect everybody and to learn to be patient in life.

Major Nyenyo thanked Maj Gen (Rtd) Gichuru for his words of wisdom shared with the new officers, noting that the visit would be beneficial in the young officers’ careers.
