KENYA AIR FORCE TROOPS GO GREEN IN KAJIADO COUNTY

A team of Kenya Air Force (KAF) personnel from Moi Air Base (MAB) led by Officer Commanding No. 27 Engineering Squadron Major Samuel Chirchir planted 12,000 indigenous trees at Naserian primary school and Namunyak Epuyiankat Primary and Junior Secondary School in Kajiado County.

The team was received by the Director of Natural Resources County Government of Kajiado Mr.George Kimiti ,area chief and school head teachers and parents from both schools.

Speaking to pupils and the local community, Major Samuel Chirchir emphasized on the importance of trees and the continued fight against global warming.

He also added that the exercise was part of the Kenya Defence Force’s (KDF) environment Soldier program. And that one of the program’s aims is to meet H.E President William Ruto’s Target of planting 15 billion Tress.

“We as the Kenya Air Force and KDF at large are planting trees to meet Commander In Chief’s targets for the green development projects. As KDF we have a duty to not only protect the nation from external aggression but defending it’s sovereignty and part of that involves ensuring the nations environmental security is always maintained,” He added.

Also present during the exercise were Officers, Warrant Officers and Service Members.
