KENYA AIR FORCE HOLDS ANNUAL AIR DEFENCE SEMINAR AT LAIKIPIA AIR BASE

Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF) Major General John Omenda opened the annual Air Defence seminar 2024 themed ‘Air Defence; a precursor for National Development’ at Laikipia Air Base in Nanyuki.

Speaking during the event, Maj General Omenda reiterated his vision to provide air defence 24/7 in maintaining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kenyan Airspace.

“Air Defence is a precursor to National Development and remains a pivotal component in the grand strategy. The niche of innovation and broad industrial research and development, should remain our center stage at all times in achieving our mandate,” He added.

The seminar aims at increasing awareness and understanding of the evolving air threats for effective and efficient air defence strategies and further bolster participants’ readiness in addressing emerging airspace threats in a ‘One Force, One Mission’ posture.

Also present during the seminar were the Base Commander Laikipia Air Base (LAB) Brig. Mohamud Farah, Base Commander Wajir Air Base (WAB) Brig. Stephen Sane, Senior Officers and Officers.
