KDF WOMEN FRIENDLY FOOTBALL MATCH – WAJIR

Mechanised Infantry Brigade female Service Members deployed at Wajir hosted the Wajir Queens under 19 years football team at Kasirika Stadium.

The event was graced by the Commander Close Operations, Brig D K Chesire, Wajir County Director of Sports Mr. Elias Kamau, Close Operations Commanding Officer Lt Col S S Kenga, amongst other officers and service members.

“We are honoured to host you for this kind of engagement. It gives us an opportunity to build friendship and collaboration with the Wajir community.” Noted the Close Operations Commander. He commended the Wajir Queens team for having emerged the best to represent the region and further encouraged them to remain committed to their studies as well as in the field of sports as they nurture their talents

In registering his appreciation on behalf of the team, the Wajir County Director of Sports remarked “We are very grateful to the KDF for hosting us today and offering our team an opportunity to training ahead of the upcoming competition. We look forward to maintaining the cordial relationship. ” The friendly match ended a draw with each team scoring one goal each.

Wajir Queens emerged the best team to represent North Eastern Region (NER) in the upcoming Safaricom Chapa Dimba National football Championship event scheduled to take place in Kisumu from 12 Apr 24 after regional competitions that were held in Garissa mid last month.
