KDF INSPECTS COMMUNITY PROJECTS IN LAIKIPIA

Today, the Kenya Defence Forces under the ongoing multi-agency operation in Laikipia, assessed the progress of Uwanja Chuma Borehole water project in Ndakuleti village, Kirima sub county.

Uwanja Chuma borehole is part of various water projects in the region undertaken by the government to cushion residents from perennial water shortages that often lead to conflict amongst the pastoralists.

The borehole has overhead water tanks to dispense water to residents with a separate trough set aside for watering animals.

Army Special Operations Brigade (ASOB) Commander Brigadier Seif Rashid expressed his satisfaction with the progress.

Addressing the residents, Brigadier Rashid assured them of the government’s commitment to end water shortages in the region towards improving their socio-economic well being. He urged them to take care of such resources.

The residents also benefited from a free medical camp organized by a medical team from 60 Army Special Battalion where various ailments were addressed.
