KDF DONATES MEDICAL SUPPLIES AND FOODSTUFF IN DHOBLEY, SOMALIA

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops operating in Somalia under the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) on 7th July 2022 donated foodstuff to residents of Dhobley town. The troops also gave out assorted medical supplies to Dhobley District Hospital.

The food donation is aimed at cushioning the residents of the town from the ongoing famine that has engulfed Somalia due to prolonged drought while the medical supplies are meant to boost the capacity of the hospital in treating patients within the locality.

Speaking as he oversaw the donations, the Deputy Sector Commander, Colonel Joel Maiyo reiterated KDF’s commitment to improving the livelihood of the locals in the area and capacity building of the institutions in line with ATMIS mandate.

The communities together with their local administration appreciated the efforts by KDF and noted that this was a major indication of brotherhood geared towards peaceful and mutual co-existence between them and KDF.
