Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops deployed at Gherille Forward Operation Base (FOB) undertook various Civil-Military cooperation activities within Gherille Centre and Handaki East in Wajir County.
The troops offered free medical services and donated assorted foodstuffs in addition to supplying fresh water to the residents.
The KDF team had engagements with key leaders from led by the area chief, Mr. Mohamed Chidie, the chair of the Council of Elders Abdi Yusuf and the Incharge of National Police Reservist (NPR) Abdi Hassan.
The soldiers expressed gratitude to the local community for their continued cooperation in stabilizing the security situation within the area and the entire region
The local leaders appreciated the positive gesture by the KDF reaching out and supporting the local community.
The Chair of the Council of Elders Mr. Abdi Yusuf commended the KDF for the initiative, saying it shall go a long way in fostering the already existing good relations.
