The Junior Joint Command and Staff Course 094/23 commenced on 16 Jan 23. The course comprises of 42 participants drawn from all Services of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF). The opening ceremony was graced by Commandant Joint Command and Staff College Maj Gen E M Kinuthia accompanied by college administration and other senior officers.
The Course aims at equipping participants with requisite knowledge and skills to perform duties in command and staff appointments more effectively.
On his address, the Commandant encouraged the Officers to remain focused, embrace new knowledge positively and share their varied experiences/expertise freely for the benefit of all the participants.
He further urged them tap into the knowledge of the Directing Staff and external facilitators.
He added that the College setting is very conducive for learning and aims at harnessing the very best of the participants in all aspects and in line with their individual course objectives.
Finally, he emphasized on the need to work as a team, maintain high standards of discipline and integrity which was key to ensuring success to any assigned tasks.
The course is scheduled to run for 14 weeks and will end on 21 Apr 23.
