Kenya Defence Forces troops and other allied states are participating in this year’s Justified Accord 2023 (JA23) exercise in the School of Infantry, Isiolo.
The two-week exercise started today and aims to improve the troops multinational interoperability and reinforce positive bilateral and regional relationships in a conflict environment.
Speaking during the official opening of the exercise, Commanding Officer 27 Mechanized Infantry Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Peter Mwangi, underscored the importance of joint training in molding a soldier holistically in addressing both conventional and asymmetrical war threats.
“A concern for commanders at all levels is the successful execution of battles and engagements. Equally important is the morale of troops and the best morale a commander can give to soldiers is first-class training,” he said.
The event was attended by the US Deputy exercise Director Lieutenant Colonel Jasson Porter and other Commanding officers from other states. Countries participating in JA23 include Uganda, Rwanda, Djibouti, and the US.
