‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ Multi-agency security team in conjunction with Baringo County Government, instigated an estimate of 20 kilometers road clearance and construction project in Kagir, Yatia location in Baringo County. The road is expected to stretch from Kagir – Barsuswa- Kashokan- Seretion – Kositei.
The area residents led by area chief, Yatia location Mr. Jackson Keitany, welcomed the gesture and appreciated the government agencies playing part in all ongoing projects, assuring them their continued support and cooperation to enhance security in the region to restore normalcy. ” It’s through partnership with the government that will help find a lasting solution in the fight against banditry. We all want developments in this area and boost our socio-economic life that has greatly deteriorated. You have our hand in anything that we can give or offer to support the government.” he reiterated
This project is among the many programs that the team from Kenya Defence Forces 18 Construction Engineers Battalion operating under ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ North Rift in collaborating with the county Governments, have initiated in the six disturbed counties, all in quest of opening up the area which will serve as a backbone of fighting insecurity in the North Rift.
So far the government has been steadfast in realizing other projects for example and renovation construction of schools, construction of water pans, renovation of Airstrip among others, that have majorly eased the ongoing Multi agency operation in the region.
