GOR TAKE DOWN ULINZI 1-0 AT THE ULINZI SPORTS COMPLEX

Gor Mahia FC today secured their first victory of the FKF Premier League campaign by defeating Ulinzi Stars 1-0 at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang’ata, Nairobi.

The decisive moment came in the 29th minute when forward Rogers Mugisha successfully capitalized on a goalkeeping error forced on the Ulinzi defence from Sibomana’s perfectly weighted corner much to the delight of loyal Kogalo fans.

The first half of the match was a cagey affair as both teams attempted to establish dominance. Despite several promising opportunities in the opening 20 minutes, the home team failed to capitalize on their chances to take the lead.

As the second half unfolded, Ulinzi Stars held the majority of the possession as they made a determined push to level the score. Their efforts were however thwarted by Gor Mahia’s goalkeeper, who had a relatively untroubled time defending the offensive onslaught by the determined soldiers.

The frantic last minutes saw a pressed Gor emaculately hold their defensive line in a bid to shield the narrow lead as a relentless Ulinzi desperately bombarded the opposing goalie with attacks in their hunt for an equaliser which never came giving Gor Mahia the full three points.

With this crucial victory, Kogalo moves up to the fifth position with four points in the FKF Premier League standings. In contrast, Ulinzi Stars find themselves at the bottom of the table, yet to secure a single point after two rounds of matches.

The FKF Premier League is now set to take a break following the international break, providing teams with an opportunity to regroup and strategize for the upcoming fixtures.
