General Officer Commanding Western Command, Major General Jeff Nyaga toured ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu,’ at the North Rift. He was briefed at the Multi-agency Command Center at Chemolingot, before touring areas of Chesitet, Tot, Kainuk, Baragoi, Pura, Kirimun, and Ngoisusu.
During the visit, Major General Jeff Nyaga was briefed on the current security situation and milestones achieved since the operation was launched. In his engagement with the troops, he commended all the security agencies for their selfless service in ensuring normalcy is gradually restored in the disturbed counties.
The GOC assured the operation commanders that Kenya Defence Forces will continue to accord them all the necessary support needed to curb the banditry menace, working together in a multi-agency set-up. He stressed the need to come up with new strategies that have not yet been utilized before, as the operation is intelligence led. ” We take cognizance of your spirited efforts of protecting Kenyans in this region, which has greatly impacted their socio-economic lives. It has not been easy, but we continue to be resilient and motivated,” he said.
The GOC was in the company of the ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ commanders.
