The Cabinet Secretary for Defence, Amb (Dr) Monica Juma has urged a team of 24 Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) athletes to hoist the Kenyan flag high in the oncoming African Cross-country championships to be held in Togo in March this year.
Speaking on Friday January 29, 2021 during the 40th edition of the Athletics Kenya Defence Forces Cross-country at Moi Air Base, the CS congratulated the team that was selected during the just concluded selection competition for their incredible performance.
“I want to commend all the people who have participated in today’s competition for the great performance they have shown today. I have no doubt that the team shall show the same exemplary performance at the national level and qualify to represent the KDF family and Kenya at large at the international level,” said the CS.
Dr. Juma, however, cautioned the teams against taking shortcuts associated with stimulant drugs saying the Anti-Doping Agency Kenya (ADAK) officials are on the look out to disqualify anyone found using the drugs.
