GATES OFFICIALLY OPEN AT THE 2023 NITF

His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto today officially opened the Nairobi International Trade Fair (NITF) 2023 at the Jamhuri Park Showground in Nairobi.

This year’s Trade Fair themed: Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic growth, has attracted more than 400 exhibitors drawn from different sectors mainly Agriculture, Government Institutions, Private Sector, Small and Medium Enterprises, Banking and Education.

In his opening remarks, the President underscored the importance of investing in Agriculture saying it was capable to demonstrate it’s power as an engine of Kenya’s economy and it’s potential to propel the country to greater heights of growth and development.

The President said the Trade Fair had provided an opportunity and a platform to engage the global audience since it attracted international exhibitors from various parts of the world including Argentina, Zambia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Egypt, Qatar, Israel among other countries.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) excelled yet again this year as it scooped first position in four categories namely: the stand that best interprets current show, the best medium trade stand (commercial and industrial), the best local manufacturers stand (consumable) and the best innovation and invention stand.

MoD also emerged second in five other categories.

The Trade Fair which kicked off on the 25th September is expected to come to an end on 1st of October 2023.

Present during the occasion were The Cabinet Secretary for Defence Honorable Aden Duale, Attorney General Hon. Justin Muturi and Nairobi Governor Hon. Johnson Sakaja.
