Former General Officer Commanding Western Command (GOC WestComm) Major General (Rtd) Joseph Kivunzi on Sunday 29 October 2023 handed over a 200-capacity African Inland Church (AIC) he constructed in Mavui, Mwingi as a way of giving back to the society.
During the handover, the retired General said this reinforces the belief that we should plough back to the community adding that the church has sponsored school-going children from humble families to enable them to access quality education.
The military veteran thanked the Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla and the office of the Chaplain from the Kenya Defence Forces for their immense support in the construction of the house of worship.
Area AIC Bishop Dr. Timothy Kituo applauded the retired GOC saying his acts have impacted the community and urged other leaders to emulate this.
