DHOBLEY WOMEN LEADERS SHARE ON HOW TO ACHIEVE SUSTAINABLE PEACE

DHOBLEY, 23rd March 2021 – Key women group leaders in Dhobley, met the Kenya Defence Forces personnel deployed under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) at the Sector II Headquarters in Dhobley and engaged them on how to secure sustainable peace in Somalia.

The Key Leadership Engagement (KLE) meeting was headed by the Female Engagement Team (FET) team leader Captain Alice Indimuli and attended by several women group leaders. During the discussions, several matters were agreed upon including cooperation and timely sharing of information on security threats.

The leaders led by their chairlady Fatma Abdi Yusuf thanked the KDF troops for the support and empowerment they offer to the women in Dhobley. In addition, they requested support for their groups which include provision of sewing machines, stationery, cleaning equipment and personal protective gear like gloves and gumboots. They underscored that the materials are critical to kick-start their groups in handling various activities they have projected which will empower them economically.

After the KLE meeting, the KDF troops donated foodstuffs to the women group leaders to share with their families.
