DEFENCE CS VISITS DEFENCE FORCES MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

Defence Cabinet Secretary Ambassador (Dr) Monica Juma today paid a visit to the Kenya Defence Forces soldier’s recuperating at the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital (DFMH), Nairobi, following the MI 17 1 E Kenya Air Force helicopter accident on Thursday, 24th June 2021.

While visiting the soldiers in various wards, the CS encouraged the injured soldiers to have faith and remain steadfast in the midst of misfortune assuring them of the Ministry of Defence support towards their full recovery.

She commended the recuperating soldiers for their effort to rescue their colleagues before arrival of rescue teams on site that lessened the number of casualties.

The Mi 17 1E helicopter crashed at landing while on training mission at Ol Tepesi, Ngong, in Kajiado county.

Present during the visit were Commander Kenya Air Force Major General Francis Ogolla, DFMH Senior Medical Officer Brigadier (Dr) Charles Kingori, Defence Headquarters Chief of Compensation and Welfare Brigadier Charles Maroko, Senior Officers and Officers.
