COMMODORE DAN CHARLEBOIS OF THE ROYAL CANADIAN NAVY VISITS KENYA NAVY HEADQUARTERS

Commodore Dan Charlebois of the Royal Canadian Navy and Commander Combined Task Force (CTF)-150 paid a courtesy call on Commander Kenya Navy Major General Jimson Mutai at the Kenya Navy headquarters, Mombasa, on 09 June 2021.
CTF-150 is a multinational task force conducting maritime security and counter-terrorism operations in Middle Eastern waters.

Commodore Dan Charlebois was accompanied by the Canadian Defence Advisor to Kenya, Colonel Darwin Ziprick and Commander Jeffrey Choat of the Royal Australian Navy.

The visit, majorly aimed at discussing better collaboration and coordination in matters of maritime security, saw the two Commanders hold talks that focused on strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. They emphasized on enhancing maritime security in the region through joint training exercises at par with the dynamics of the security threats in the region.

Present during the meeting was the Commander Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe Brigadier Thomas Ng’ang’a and Chief of Operations Colonel Bernard Kumba.
