COMMANDER KENYA ARMY HOSTS PAKISTAN GENERAL AT HEADQUARTERS KENYA ARMY

Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General Peter Njiru on Wednesday, 8th November 2023 hosted the Pakistan Director General Foreign Military Cooperation Major General Muneer-Ud-Din for bilateral talks at the Headquarters Kenya Army in Nairobi. During the visit, the two military leaders held strategic discussions on issues of mutual interest between the two countries and explored viable areas of cooperation and partnership on military matters.

Major General Muneer-Ud-Din was also taken through a brief of the key roles and mandate of the Kenya Army in protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kenya against land-based threats.

Before embarking on his visit at the Headquarters Kenya Army, Major General Muneer-Ud-Din held a meeting with KDF senior officers at the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi. The meeting was geared towards improving bilateral relations between the two nations in tackling security threats that the two nations face. In the meeting, both parties agreed to cooperate on military training and exercises, media services and research, maritime security, cyber security, counter terrorism and other areas of mutual interest.

Pakistan and Kenya have over the years enjoyed cordial bilateral relations and are strategic partners in various sectors.

Present during the visit were the Deputy Commander Kenya Army Major General David Tarus and Chief of Training at the Headquarters Kenya Army Brigadier Benedict Mzee. The Pakistan delegation comprised of Major General Muneer- Ud- Din, Brigadier Raja Shozab Majeed, Brigadier Muhammad Altaf and Major Abeel Liagat.
