CDF PRESIDES OVER THE SIGNING OF PERFORMANCE CONTRACTS FOR TOP MILITARY LEADERS

Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), General Francis Ogolla, today led Services, Directorates and Defence Controlled Units (DCUs) in signing Performance Contracts for the Financial Year 2023/24 at the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi.

Performance Contracts are roadmaps of setting targets that aid the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) as a whole to accomplish its mandate of protecting and defending the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity from external aggression.

Gen Ogolla guided the departments’ representatives present to uphold prudent utilization of resources aligned within the budget in order to sustain the excellent performance by the Ministry, to continue being rated among the best.

The performance contracts serve as a pack between the KDF leadership, services and DCUs which represents a shared commitment, measurable targets and a dedication to continuous improvement.

In addition, he urged them to uphold the principle of mission command, trust and responsibility in order to achieve a modern and professional military, that is able to deliver whenever deployed rallied by the dictum of one force one mission.

He viewed the performance contract as a cornerstone of the KDF journey towards greater excellence, boosting operational readiness, welfare and infrastructural developments as well as developing personnel and capability.

The CDF thanked and congratulated the participants for their dedication, patriotism and leadership in their capacities.

Among those present during the performance contract signing ceremony were; Service Commanders, General Officers and Senior Officers.
