CANADIAN AMBASSADOR DELIVERS A LECTURE OF OPPORTUNITY AT NDC

Canada’s Ambassador for Women, Peace and Security H.E Jacqueline O’Neil delivered a lecture of opportunity at the National Defence College (NDC) on Thursday 18 January 2024.

The Ambassador was received by the College’s Commandant Major General Rashid Elmi alongside other Senior Directing Staff.

The lecture centred on the role of women and their contribution to peace and security in the ever changing security landscape.

H.E O’Neil told the 65 students of Course 26/2023-24 that women and children are the most affected during conflicts saying that, despite this challenge, women play a critical role and thus should be involved in policy and decision making organs in key security infrastructure.

NDC is a premier Centre of Excellence mandated to prepare select senior military officers and equivalent civil servants from Kenya and other allied countries for higher responsibilities in the direction and management of security and other related areas of public policy.
