The Cabinet under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. William Ruto has approved various bills among them Ulinzi Prime Health Services (UPHS) Fund.
The UPHS was established by the Defence Council in July 2022 with the objective of partially opening up KDF medical facilities for uptake by prescribed civilians at a ‘fee-for-service’.
The military hospitals among them Levels IV and V have over the years been providing health services to KDF service personnel both serving and retired and their dependants only.
Further, the Cabinet noted with appreciation the significant work done by the multi-agency team deployed in North Rift to combat banditry and cattle rustling in six counties declared as dangerous and troubled.
The operation dubbed Operation Maliza Uhalifu (OMU) is being spearhead by the KDF in collaboration with others security agencies among them National Police Service, National Police Reservists, Directorate of Criminal Investigations among others.
The team has made significant strides in silencing the guns and maintaining peace, security and stability in the area for the government to roll out social economic development projects.
