BRINGING MORE MEMBERS ON BOARD

Members of the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) on 21st November 2022 held a roll-down plan introductory meeting with Units/Wing Commanders and Adjutants at the Moi Air Base (MAB), Nairobi.

The Base Commander MAB Brigadier Samwel Kipkorir welcomed members of MWAK and made his opening remarks after which he passed on the program to the MWAK chairperson Mrs Tabitha Kibochi.

In her opening remarks, Mrs Kibochi thanked the Commander Kenya Air Force for giving the team a chance to expound more on what MWAK is all about.

“We are inspired by other military associations all over the world and our aim is to make sure we are there for each other as ladies because we want to be a support system for each other. We also want to come up with ways on how we can work with the KDF leadership to ensure welfare of our families,” she stated.

MWAK Vice Chairperson elaborated the strategic pillars of the Association as captured in their five-year strategic plan. The pillars include: housing, health, education, mentorship, veteran affairs, recreation and wellbeing. It also encompasses partnerships and financial sustainability.

After the presentation there was a Question and Answer session where the Seniors Officers and Officers got to engage with MWAK inorder to get more information and recommend how best the roll-down program can be achieved. From the session, MWAK promised to put all the concerns and recommendations into serious consideration.

Finally, Mrs Kibochi appreciated the Service personnel for their contribution and urged them to bring their spouses on board.

“We mean well, we shall grow together and as we say in MWAK, we shall walk far together,” she concluded.
