BISHOP OF MILITARY ORDINARIATE PAYS COURTESY CALL ON COMMANDER KENYA ARMY

On 15 November 2024, Bishop Wallace Nga’ng’a, the Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of Kenya, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General David Tarus, the Commander of the Kenya Army, at the Kenya Army Headquarters. This visit was part of Bishop Nga’ng’a’s familiarization tour of the three Kenya Defence Forces services. Recently ordained on 12 October 2024, Bishop Nga’ng’a serves as the third bishop of Kenya’s Catholic Military Ordinariate.

Lt Gen Tarus expressed gratitude for the bishop’s visit, recognizing the chaplaincy’s essential role in offering spiritual guidance and support to military personnel.

“I am grateful and honoured for the visit. I look forward to more spiritual interaction as you guide us in our spiritual journey,” he noted.

In his address, Bishop Nga’ng’a praised the Kenya Army for its dedication and professionalism, particularly in handling complex assignments.

“I am privileged to minister to the Kenya Defence Forces. I applaud the sacrifices you make to keep our country safe. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to peace. It is because of your sacrifices that I humbly ask the Lord to bless you abundantly,” said Bishop Nga’ng’a.

Deputy Army Commander Maj Gen Mohammed Hassan and other senior officers from the Kenya Army Headquarters were also present at the event.
