AFFIRMING OPERATIONAL READINESS

Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Peter Njiru has this week toured Formations and Units in Isiolo and Nairobi regions. The visits are part of the Commander’s end of year routine visits aimed at affirming their operational and mission readiness as they execute the Kenya Army mandate.

In his address to troops at the School of Infantry in Isiolo, Lt Gen Njiru commended them for their discipline and professionalism in ensuring the country is protected from land-based threats. He further stated that the Kenya Army leadership continues to prioritize the welfare of the troops ensuring soldier centric approaches are complemented by delivering on the family welfare needs.

“You have conducted yourselves professionally in all tasks assigned to you. The discipline, courage and dedication you have demonstrated has earned the Kenya Army respect, and pride. I urge you to continue being mission ready for future tasks,” said Lt Gen Njiru.

The Commanders’ visit gave the soldiers an opportunity to interact and share their experiences, convey gaps and opportunities unique to their areas of responsibility.

The Commander was accompanied by several senior officers and senior Non-Commissioned Officers from the Kenya Army.
