A SEAMLESS TRANSITION

Any military force must interact with all elements in it’s mission area to foster understanding and cohesion in undertaking key operational mandates.The outgoing Sector Two Commander Brigadier Jattani Gula introduced the Somalia Security Forces (SSF) leadership based in Dhobley region to the incoming Sector Two and Second Brigade Commander, Brigadier William Kamoiro.This is part of the ongoing seamless transition between the two Commanders.

Sector Two Outgoing Commander Brigadier Jattani Gula and Incoming Commander Brigadier William Kamoiro on 21st February 2023 met with Somalia Security Forces (SSF) leadership and the local administrator at the sector Headquarters. Colonel Mohamed Heybe the Commander Jubbaland Security Forces (JSF) led his team while Hassan Abdi Hanshi who is the Dhobley District Commissioner represented the local leaders during the meeting.

The outgoing ATMIS Commander convened a meeting with SSF leadership in order to discuss key issues in enhancing the security situation in Dhobley region as well to introduce them to the incoming Sector Commander.This is part of Commander’s motive to induct the new Commander and allow him familiarize with the the new working environment.

Additionally, he appreciated SSF leadership for their cordial working relationship they showcased during his tour of duty and noted that the biggest achievement he has witnessed in his entire duration is the continuous capacity building and medical provisions to the locals around Dhobley region and SSF in general.He also urged the incoming commander to continue supporting the SSF soldiers and finally, he wished the new Commander a great and a wonderful tour of duty.

“Work hand in hand with the incoming Commander and support the commander by sharing important information and create trust to the commander by talking and working as one team”,Stated Brigadier Gula.

Brigadier Kamoiro on his part thanked the outgoing Commander and his team for exemplary performance in carrying on with the implementation of Somalia Transition plans (STP’s).

“We all know the common goal which is fighting the common enemy. Let us be open to each other once issues arise”,added Brigadier Kamoiro.

The local leadership led by DC Dhobley, Hassan Abdi Hanshi on his part welcomed the new Commander and promised to provide unwavering support to the achievement of the mission at hand.

Later on the Commanders met with the Individual Police Officers (IPO’s) who were drawn from various countries for instance, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Zambia. The team was led by the Chief Superintendent of Police Julius Odusina from Nigeria and his deputy Superintendent of Police Fredrick Mutisya from Kenya.

The new Commander will officially take over his mandate during the changeover ceremony scheduled to take shape on Friday 24th February 2023 at Sector Two Headquarters, Dhobley.
