Soldiers from Moi Air Base (MAB), Air Defence Wing (ADW) in partnership with Trees and Culture Organisation on Thursday, 6th April 2023 conducted a tree planting exercise in Ruai, Nairobi County.
The soldiers planted 1000 tree seedling at Dandora Secondary School and donated 4000 trees seedlings to the Ruai sewage treatment plant. The exercise was conducted to promote the ‘one million trees’ initiative which is spearhead by Trees and Culture Organisation.
Chairman, Trees and Culture Mr. Daniel Nadimo together with Environmental Patron Dandora Secondary school Mr. Alfred Nyairo thanked Kenya Air Force for their continuous support to their initiative set to grow 1 million new trees as part of climate change mitigation agenda to curb air pollution in Ruai.
The team from ADW was led by Lieutenant Amos Gikunju, also present were Warrant Officer class 1 Daniel Lesokoyo, Service members from ADW and Trees and Culture Organisation representatives.
