7,000 TREES PLANTED IN KAHAWA GARRISON

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers drawn from various Corps at Kahawa Garrison, mid this week, planted over 7,000 trees at the military cantonment in Nairobi.

The trees were assorted indigenous species planted at designated areas in the Garrison.

Leading the troops in the exercise; Kenya Army’s Corps of Signal Commander Colonel Edward Onyango urged the soldiers to uphold the environmental conservation efforts in line with the KDF Environmental Soldier Programme aimed at improving the forest cover in the Country.

Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) Director Dr. Eston Mutitu and representatives from participating banks and insurance companies joined Service Personnel in the exercise.
