KDF Continues to evacuate Kenyans stranded in Ethiopia

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) through Kenya Air Force C27J Spartan Aircraft has so far airlifted a total of 40 Kenyans who were stranded in Ethiopia due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The third bunch of the ongoing evacuation landed safely at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Sunday, 5th July 2020.

Speaking upon arrival, Kenyan Ambassador to Ethiopia Amb. Catherine Mwangi who was onboard the aircraft, expressed her gratitude towards the Kenyan Government and Kenya Defence Forces for facilitating the evacuation of stranded Kenyans from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The evacuated compatriots  are expected to be placed under mandatory quarantine in designated facilities in line with the guidelines given by the Ministry of Health as a measure to curb the spread of the virus.

KDF will continue to participate in national development and support to civil authority when called upon.
