Kenya Army Troops Conducts Cimic Activities In Samburu

The Kenya Army troops led by the Engineers Brigade conducted several Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities in areas neighbouring the Samburu Military Training Area (MTA). In Archers Post town, the troops repaired Archers Post-Larisoro main water supply line that supplies water to residents in the town and its environs. The water line was destroyed by floods at the Ewaso – Nyiro Bridge that connects Isiolo and Samburu Counties.

The troops also repaired the water line and carried out several repair works of the classrooms in Larisoro Primary School to assist improve the learning environment for the pupils. Larisoro Dispensary also received infrastructural face lift following the exercise.The Kenya Army also have future plans of constructing a football pitch at the Samburu Technical and Vocational Training College to encourage youths to take part in recreational activities.

These CIMIC activities were carried alongside a Command Post Exercise (CPX) that was conducted by the troops in the Samburu MTA. The CPX is a training exercise aimed at improving and maintaining proficiency and combat readiness of the troops to carry out their mandate of defending the republic from land based aggression.
