ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS OBSERVES FAMILY DAY THANKS GIVING MASS

The General Officer Commanding (GOC)Western Command Major General Joseph Kivunzi on 29th August 2021 joined the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church faithfuls in celebration of the Family Day Thank Giving Mass at the at the Defence Headquarters, Nairobi.

The Family Thank Giving Mass was presided by Colonel, The Very Reverend Father Benjamin Maswili who is the Apostolic Administrator.

During the Mass, Col (Fr) Maswili called upon the Christians to walk in obedience and have the urge to know God and walk closely with Him. “There is no way we can come into a close relationship with God and walk fully in the blessings of Christ without obeying Him,” he said.

He also relayed his gratitude towards the Chief of of Defence Forces General Robert Kibochi for his continuous support towards the KDF chaplaincy.

Speaking during the service, Maj Gen Kivunzi expressed his gratitude thanking everyone for attending the Family Day Thank Giving Mass as this is obedience to God. He inspired the congregation to continue keeping the faith and never tire to serve God at any given time.

“This is a rare opportunity for me to be here and I feel humbled. Kindly allow me to remind us to obey the guidelines given to us by the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus. In security I encourage everyone to be their brothers’ keeper due to security threats and I call each of us to be cautious during this times,” said the GOC Commander.

The mass was attended by KDF personnel and their Families.
