Kenya Defence Forces troops completed a training exercise with Defence Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) counterparts from the United States of America (USA) at the Humanitarian Peace Support School in Embakasi, Nairobi.
The Situational Training Exercise (STX) aimed at testing skill-sets and knowledge acquired on Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) in countering Weapons of Mass Destruction as well as Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) response.
At the end of the exercise, there was a transition ceremony between the Defence Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and the Massachusetts National Guard (MANG) both from the USA.
Present at the ceremony were Commander Engineers Brigade Brigadier Stephen Radina, Kenya – United States Liaison Office (KUSLO) representative Lieutenant Colonel Mathew Kopp, DTRA representative Alex Robinson, Senior Instructor on Counter Improvised Explosive Devices at HPSS Lieutenant Colonel Peter Boy Wanga, DTRA Lead Trainer Major Lucas Hoffman, Disaster Response Battalion (DRB) representative Major Charles Mulei and other DTRA and MANG Trainers.
