The General Officer Commanding Border Security Command (GOC BSC) Major General Stephen Otieno handed over the Kenyan flag to the Kenya Defence Forces team headed to Abuja, Nigeria for the Relay Championships on 29 September 2021.
The team has been invited to participate in the championships alongside other countries in the Sahel Region for a Peace Run Against Terrorism.
In his remarks, Maj Gen Otieno appreciated all KDF sportsmen and women who over the years have performed exemplary well both in the local and international events earning our country glory and admiration worldwide.
He maintained that KDF recognises the needs of having a comprehensive sports development programs with the aim of producing elite, world class sportsmen and women in major disciplines while invoking the values of sports as an integral part of the physical training fitness regime.
