The Commander, Kenya Air Force (KAF) Major General John Omenda presided over the 17th graduation ceremony of the Defence Forces Technical College (DEFTEC) on 1 October 2021 at Embakasi garrison, Nairobi.
A total of 15 Officers graduated after successfully completing an Engineering Officers Course while 228 service members graduated with diplomas and certificates in various fields among them aeronautical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering.
Speaking during the event, the Commander KAF congratulated the graduands and implored them to make good use of the acquired skills and knowledge to ensure high level of competency as they discharge their mandate as KDF technicians.
“The college which has continued to make great strides has become a college of National Defence University – Kenya (NDU-K) and has transitioned well into the new academic dispensation. It is expected through the NDU-K the college will be a great pillar forming a fundamental technical base to support industrialization of this great Nation,” added the Commander KAF.
The premier institution is mandated to train manpower for all KDF Services technicians who continue to take care of KDF equipment and systems.
