Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops operating under Operation Maliza Uhalifu (OMU), in collaboration with medical teams from Medical Mission Africa (MeMA) and Kingdom Builders International, conducted a two-day medical camp in the Orolwo and Chewara areas of Kolowa, Baringo County.
The team attended to over 300 residents, providing medical consultations, treatments, general check-ups, and water filters to help prevent waterborne diseases, as the communities rely on water pans for their water supply.
Sergeant Raymond Kirui, a KDF nursing officer, highlighted the prevalence of scalp and skin fungal infections among the residents, emphasizing the need for close monitoring and community sensitization.
Speaking during the event, Major John Maluli, Officer Commanding Kolowa Forward Operating Base, reiterated KDF’s commitment to offering humanitarian assistance to vulnerable members of society.
He also urged locals to share information with security agents to foster a peaceful region.
Meanwhile, KDF troops from the Chemoligot Multi-Agency Command Centre distributed water to residents of Lomelo. Lomelo Chief Jackson Ekwang expressed gratitude, noting that residents often travel long distances in search of water, and the donation by KDF is a much-needed act of brotherhood.
Additionally, KDF troops based in Mukutani FOB distributed food supplies to 42 families of newly initiated graduates and organized a medical camp for residents of Churo.
