The Kenya Navy (KN) Muslim Faithful today, 06 April 2023, donated food and assorted gifts to the less privileged Families in Mtongwe village, Mombasa County.
The food donation given to more than 40 families was part of the KN Muslim Faithful charitable contributions during this holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Deputy Commander Kenya Navy Fleet (KNF) Colonel Mohamed Shemote emphasized the importance of remembering the less privileged during the holy month of Ramadan.
“We have decided to remember our neighbors who are less privileged so that we can share the little that Allah the Almighty God has given us. In this holy period of Ramadan, God has commanded us to share with those who don’t have and by doing so we please Him, the most merciful and the most gracious”, Colonel Shemote stated.
On their part, the families were very grateful to the KN Muslim Faithful for remembering them during this fasting period.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic Lunar Calendar and the most sacred month in the Islamic faith.
Present during the event was the Commanding Officer Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe, Lieutenant Colonel Evans Onyancha, KNF Welfare Officer, Major Mohamed Said and service members.
