Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops stationed at the Idido Forward Operating Base (FOB) organised a community engagement initiative in Yaa Galbo village, located in Marsabit County. Led by Officer Commanding, Major David Obwiri, the soldiers offered medical aid to the local community, primarily consisting of women and children with diverse medical requirements. Additionally, they distributed water to an ECDE centre and the locals residing within the area.
During the event, Major Obwiri expressed gratitude to community leaders for their cordial relationship with soldiers. He urged them to continue engaging with KDF towards peace and security in the region.
The ECDE teacher, Mr. Ndenge Guye, along with the village elders, expressed their gratitude to the KDF for their generous act towards the pupils and the entire community.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the KDF for providing us with fresh water, taking the time to interact with us today, and for their efforts in monitoring and mentoring our students.”
