Troops from the 3rd Battalion, the Kenya Rifles conducted a visit to Home Boys Ranch Children Home located in Pipeline, Nakuru County. The Ranch is a missionary sponsored institution focused on the rehabilitation of street children and those neglected by society due to drug addiction.
During this visit, the troops gave mentorship talks to the children with the aim of motivating them to work hard and smart in their studies in order to excel in their examinations. The soldiers also conducted compound cleaning, firewood splitting, and tree planting. Later in the day, they also played a football match with the children.
As a way of taking care of the less fortunate in the society during this festive season, the soldiers donated foodstuffs and clothing to the children.
The ranch management appreciated the good gesture from the troops and requested more visits in the future.
