CHEMOLINGOT HOST THANKSGIVING CEREMONY

Residents of Chemolingot in Tiaty today expressed their gratitude to the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops operating under Operation Maliza Uhalifu (OMU) in a thanks giving ceremony graced by Commander OMU, Brigadier S M Huria at Chemolingot African Inland Church (AIC) Baringo County.

The residents acknowledged the KDF’s selfless acts of kindness like distribution of water donations of clothes and foodstuff as well as medicamps that have greatly enhanced the livelihoods of the people in the region.

Notably the residents highlighted initiatives such as sporting activities that KDF has has since introduced and have been keen in encouraging fostering a unity and cohesion amongst communities in North Rift.

“We value the services that you have rendered to this community. Peace has prevailed, we are grateful and may the Lord bless you always,” noted Bishop Yusuf Losute.

Speaking during the ceremony, Commander OMU appreciated the residents and the church for being peace ambassadors and commended them for the active participation and close working relationship with security agencies towards realisation of sustainable peace in the North Rift.

“I urge you to continue being in the forefront in preaching and spreading peace,” added Commander OMU.

The event culminated with KDF troops donating one hundred and fifty uniforms for pupils at Sunrise Primary school a football ball and assorted clothing for adults and children.
