Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops based at Konton Forward Operating Base (FOB), held a Key Leadership Engagement meeting with the local administration, village elders, Konton primary school headteacher, National Police Reservist (NPR), and other security agencies from Qarsa. The engagement aimed at bolstering peace and security in Wajir East.
During the meeting, the Officer Commanding (OC) Konton FOB, Captain Edward Leperes appreciated the local administration and elders for the already existing cordial relations, especially on information sharing and collective synergy. He implored them to uphold the spirit and willingness to offer their concerted effort to foster peace in the region.
Representing the local administration, the area Chief thanked KDF for their unwavering support to the community through CIMIC activities. They urged the security forces to keep on the fight against terror and restore calm in the locality.
