The Kenya Navy (KN) celebrated the festive season with a heart-warming Christmas Carols event at Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe on December 20, 2024. The occasion was led by Commander Kenya Navy, Major General Paul Otieno, and brought together personnel and their families in a vibrant display of unity and festive cheer. Officers, service personnel, and their families gathered to sing traditional Christmas carols, creating an uplifting atmosphere.
In his remarks, Major General Otieno expressed his gratitude to all Formation Commanders, Officers, and Service Members for their dedication and hard work throughout the year.
“2024 has been a busy year, we are thankful to have emerged victorious in our endeavors. I thank all Formation Commanders, Officers, and Service Members for their commitment. To crown it all, we showcased the utmost professionalism during the recent KN@60 celebrations. As your commander, I am genuinely proud of you. Bravo Zulu to all,” he said.
Major General Otieno also extended his appreciation to the families for their unwavering support, noting that the achievements of the sailors would not have been possible without their encouragement. He urged the personnel to remain vigilant, especially during the festive season.
The event was attended by key figures, including Deputy Commander Kenya Navy, Brigadier Sankale Kiswaa; Commander Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe, Brigadier Abraham Biwot; Commander Kenya Navy Fleet, Brigadier Mohamed Shemote; Chief of Naval Medical Services, Brigadier (Dr.) Justino Muinde; as well as Senior Officers, Officers, Sailors, and their families.
