KENYA DEFENCE FORCES OBSERVES ASH WEDNESDAY

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Christian Faithfuls on Wednesday, 2nd March 2022 joined the Christian community around the world in observing Ash Wednesday, a day that marks the start of 40 days Lenten Season.

Faithfuls in Nairobi congregated at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, at the Defence Headquarters, where Major (Fr) John Njue led General Officers, Senior Officers, Officers, Service Members and their families in understanding the significance of Lent.

“This is a season for penance, reflection and fasting in order to prepare us for Christ’s resurrection and for our redemption,” he said.

Major (Fr) Njue encouraged the faithfuls to observe the 40 days with utmost humility, repentance and care for one another as an expression of love and kindness for and amongst mankind.
