The General Officer Commanding (GOC) West Command, Major General Jeff Nyagah, visited the Operation Maliza Uhalifu (OMU) area in the North Rift region today, where he was briefed on the current security situation and the progress made since the operation’s launch.
During his visit to the Chesitet Forward Operations Base, the GOC praised the troops for their diligence, resilience, and commitment in fulfilling their primary role of maintaining peace and security, contributing to the restoration of normalcy in the North Rift.
“We are proud of your selfless service and the excellent work you’re doing. We appreciate the role you are playing here, driven by love for your country,” he stated.
In his address, Maj Gen Nyagah urged the troops to remain vigilant, uphold discipline and professionalism in their duties, and prioritize safety on the roads and in the camps. He also encouraged them to manage their finances responsibly to overcome financial challenges.
Commander OMU, Brigadier S.M. Huria, highlighted that the soldiers remain mission-ready and have carried out their duties with integrity, maintaining a strong spirit of teamwork.
“The soldiers have been steadfast and have worked harmoniously with other stakeholders to restore normalcy in the region,” Brigadier Huria noted.
