Deputy Brigade Commander Army Special Operation Brigade (ASOB) on 20th May 2022, presided over the closing ceremony of Basic Free Fall course at Sina Makosa grounds in Moi Air Base (MAB), Nairobi.
The Deputy Brigade Commander congratulated the graduands for their hard work and dedication.
“This is a historic moment in the airborne fraternity. As you are aware, this is the first time we are graduating the largest number of students at one time since free fall started in Kenya way back in 1988,” he noted.
The course, which was conducted by Special Operations Training School (SOTS), comprised of students drawn from all the three Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Services.
The training focused on various objectives that included airborne exit techniques, free fall techniques, flight and canopy control techniques, landing techniques, emergency drills while airborne and landing among others.
Despite heavy rains and thick cloud cover which were experienced during the training period, students showcased high level of skills gained during the lessons.
Since inception, free fall techniques have been applied during Public Holiday celebrations, Agricultural Society of Kenya Show displays and military insertions.
In attendance were Deputy Base Commander MAB, Senior officers, Officers and Service Members.
