On 02 Mar 23, Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops stationed at Bodhei LAPSSET security camp operating under OAB distributed water and food to the community of Bodhei, Majengo village in Lamu county.
The team was led by 23 MIB Commanding officer Lt Col Kennedy Rubithia, who is also Commanding Officer LAPSSET 1.
Also present were troops from 23MIB, the 4th Squadron of Engineers, teachers and learners of Bodhei primary School, Bodhei Majengo residents, and local administration led by area chief Mr. Abdalla Ben. The administrator lauded KDF for its hospitality and urged the residents to spread messages of harmony and peaceful co-existence between the different communities for the betterment the society.
Lt Col Rubithia thanked the residents for their continued support to the security personnel in the area and also the government initiative to develop the region, additionally he assured them of full support that will ensure harmonious coexistence, he emphasized that the success of the LAPPSET project would benefit the locals now and future generations.
“We’re grateful for the support that you’ve accorded the security agencies in this region to properly execute our mandate, as we move forward am appealing you continue with the same spirit and zeal to move our nation forward, this project will not only open up this local area for development but also economic prosperity. ” Concluded Lt Col. Rubithia.
LAPSSET project as one of vision 2030 project launched in Lamu has continued to open up Lamu for endless economic opportunities.
