The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) Muslim Community this week donated Iftar to two widows of former KDF Principal Imams, in symbolic acts of kindness during the Holy month of Ramadhan.
Kenya Army Service Imam Colonel Rajab Athman and other Imams and Islamic Maalims paid a comforting visit to Mrs Salma Shariff, widow of former Principal Imam the late Lieutenant Colonel Bashir Sirej, at her home in Nairobi.
The team also visited Mrs Fauzia Issa Awath, at her home in Kapsabet. Mrs Awath is widow to former KDF Principal Imam the late Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Noor. During both visits, the team shared messages of comfort and courage with the widows and their families, and donated a variety of foodstuff.
Colonel Rajab shared Principlal Imam Colonel KDF Muslim fraternity’s goodwill and grace message with the widows. They in turn expressed their gratitude for the acts of benevolence.
This initiative is in line with Islamic tenets and the spirit of Ramadhan, where Muslims are encouraged to engage in acts of kindness to members of society.
